Use the Whirlwind again and this time stand on the left-hand outcropping. From here you can spot three Red Gems on the raised grassy walkway below at the edge of this area. Jump down and Flame it to release the Green Gem. Head inside the tower and ride the Whirlwind up to the top to find the Portal to Town Square, with three Red Gems in front of it.įrom the Whirlwind facing the Town Square Portal, stand on the outcropping on your right to find a Chest sitting on top of a shorter tower below. Check behind the lighter tower with the doorway at the bottom of the ramp for two Red Gems and a Green Gem. Head down the ramp behind Tomas and defeat the Gem Thief for five Red Gems. For stylish landings, pull down on the left analog stick for a slow, flappy approach to the ground. If you feel like you’re going to overshoot where you want to land, press Triangle/Y to cancel the Glide and Drop straight down. To restore health, Flame or Charge a Critter (sheep, toads, chickens, etc) to release a butterfly, which Sparx will eat to restore one hit. Get hit again after this and Spyro will die and lose a life. Sparx will act as Spyro’s health indicator: Gold means Spyro is at full health, Blue means you have two hits left, and Green just one. Delbin will explain that Sparx is helping and protecting Spyro. For Reignited players, you can press down the left stick (called 元 on PS4) to have Sparx point to the nearest Gem in the level.īetween the platform you’re on and the waterfalls will be the second Dragon, Delbin. This is especially important in the PS1 version of the game as Gems won’t be rendered at large distances in that version. Gems emit a bright glimmer from afar, making them easier to spot. Gems are sometimes used as currency for the Balloonists to access new Home Worlds in the Dragon Realms, but you’ll also need to collect all of them to unlock the secret level in the game and achieve 100%. Gems can come in different values depending on their colour: Red are worth 1, Green 2, Blue 5, Gold 10 and Pink 25. For ease, this walkthrough describes Gems by their colour, rather than their total value. They can be found either lying on the ground, found in Chests, dropped by enemies, or given as rewards in Flight levels. Gems, sometimes referred to as Treasure, are the most common collectible game, and Spyro being a Dragon and all, you’ll be finding a whole lot of them.
